- WHO WE ARE
It is not necessary to have studied a business or legal discipline before undertaking the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification. For example, engineers, scientists and teachers have become highly successful tax advisers.
Exemptions from certain modules may be granted where applicants have successfully completed Level 8 or 9 examinations.
If you have chosen a relevant degree (legal or business-related discipline), you may be entitled to exemptions from some modules of the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification.
Check pages 27 - 31 of our Student Handbook to see if your qualification is listed.
I have a Level 8 degree, but it is not listed?
If your qualification is not listed, you can apply for exemptions on a case-by-case basis. See what you will need to do on page 26 of our Student Handbook.
I don't have a Level 8 degree - am I entitled to any exemptions?
If you do not hold an honours degree or equivalent, you may be entitled to exemptions on a case-by-case basis, through the recognition of work-based learning.
Read more about this on page 25 of our Student Handbook to check how to apply for exemptions based on the recognition of significant work-based learning.
