Some more information and tips about a career in tax

  • Talk to your career counsellor or business studies teacher – they are a great starting point to guide you in the right direction.
  • Speak to people in the profession - they will give you great ideas about where to start!
  • Check out the college courses that give you a step up on the ladder - exemptions from professional exams are available depending on your degree.

No matter where you are located in Ireland, there is a college and course that will give you a good grounding for a career in tax.

Depending on your degree, you may be entitled to some exemptions from the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification, so take a look at these courses on pages 11 - 16 of our Student Handbook.
