FanTAXtic - a competition for TY students!

Are you in TY? Would you like to take part in a team competition where you and your team members could win Beats headphones and a fantastic cash prize for you and your school?!!

So what do you need to do to take part? 

  • Get together in a team of 3
  • Research the topic of "Sugar Tax" (there are a few particular questions that we would like you to answer - you will find them in the brochure
  • Produce a 2 minute video and send it in to us (all the details on how to do this are in the brochure)

The closing date is 5pm on Monday 16 April 2018.  All the details, along with the application form and T&Cs can be found in the brochure.

Some more information and tips about a career in tax

  • Talk to your career counsellor or business studies teacher – they are a great starting point to guide you in the right direction.
  • Speak to people in the profession - they will give you great ideas about where to start!
  • Check out the college courses that give you a step up on the ladder - exemptions from professional exams are available depending on your degree. 
  • Read all about a career in tax in  BellTime Magazine - Ireland's dedicated magazine for secondary schools!

No matter where you are located in Ireland, there is a college and course that will give you a good grounding for a career in tax.

Depending on your degree, you may be entitled to some exemptions from the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification, so take a look at these courses on pages 11 - 16 of our Student Handbook.
