FanTAXtic - a competition for TY students!

FanTAXtic is a competition specifically for TY students where students work together in teams to research a topical tax issue, and present their findings and opinions in a short video!  FanTAXtic 2019 has now closed. If you will be a TY student in 2019/2020 and would like to win great prizes for your team and your school, then check back in early January 2020 to find out more!

This year's winners:

The winning team for the 2019 FanTAXtic competition were from Loreto College in Kilkenny.  The team had to analyse how tax can influence behaviour and give their thoughts and opinions in a short video. Congratulations to Loreto College, Kilkenny and well done to all of the entrants!

Some more information and tips about a career in tax

  • Talk to your career guidance counsellor or business studies teacher – they are a great starting point to guide you in the right direction.
  • Speak to people in the profession - they will give you great ideas about where to start!
  • Check out the college courses that give you a step up on the ladder - exemptions from professional exams are available depending on your degree. 

No matter where you are located in Ireland, there is a college and course that will give you a good grounding for a career in tax.

Depending on your degree, you may be entitled to some exemptions from the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification, so take a look at these courses on pages 11 - 16 of our Student Handbook.
